Special Education Department 2009-2010

The following is information for the 2009-2010 year:

Department Goals: The Special Education Department at Covina High School is focused on creating an intensive CAHSEE preparatory course of study within the current curriculum.

Department Smart Goals:

• Students with disabilites will meet percent proficient target in ELA and Math for AYP.
• Students with disabilites will meeth the growth target for API.
• 95% of sophmores will participate in the CAHSEE.
• Students will improve by 5% in CAHSEE Algebra 1 and Writing Strategies on the 2009-10 exam.
• Develop four Common Assessments in all core areas.

Anticipated Annual Performance Growth Special Education:

• ELA 08-09: 29.4% 09-10: 55.6%
• Math 08-09: 38.2% 09-10: 54.8%
